چکیده
This letter discusses the recent paper Some technical remarks on the proof of the No Free Lunch the orem In that paper some technical issues related to the formal proof of the No Free Lunch NFL theorem for search were given As a result of a discussion among the authors this letter explores the issues raised in that paper more thoroughly This includes the presentation of a simpler version of the NFL proof in accord with a sug gestion made explicitly in and implicitly in It also includes the correction of an incorrect claim made in of a limitation of the NFL theorem Finally some thoughts on future research directions for research into algorithm per formance are given

Remarks on the Paper ``Coupled Fixed Point Theorems for Single-Valued Operators in b-Metric Spaces''
In this paper, we improve some recent coupled fixed point resultsfor single-valued operators in the framework of ordered $b$-metricspaces established by Bota et al. [M-F. Bota, A. Petrusel, G.Petrusel and B. Samet, Coupled fixed point theorems forsingle-valued operators in b-metric spaces, Fixed Point TheoryAppl. (2015) 2015:231]. Also, we prove that Perov-type fix...

In this paper, some recent results established by Marin Borcut [M. Borcut, Tripled fixed point theorems for monotone mappings in partially ordered metric spaces, Carpathian J. Math. 28, 2 (2012), 207--214] and [M. Borcut, Tripled coincidence theorems for monotone mappings in partially ordered metric spaces, Creat. Math. Inform. 21, 2 (2012), 135--142] are generalized and improved, with much sho...
متن کاملThe Supervised Learning No-Free-Lunch Theorems
This paper reviews the supervised learning versions of the no-free-lunch theorems in a simpli ed form. It also discusses the signi cance of those theorems, and their relation to other aspects of supervised learning.
متن کاملNew directions in genetic algorithm theory
Recently several classical Genetic Algorithm principles have been challenged-including the Fundamental Theorem of Genetic Algorithms and the Principle of Minimal Alphabets. In addition, the recent No Free Lunch theorems raise further concerns. In this paper we review these issues and offer some new directions for GA researchers.
متن کاملNo-Free-Lunch theorems in the continuum
No-Free-Lunch Theorems state, roughly speaking, that the performance of all search algorithms is the same when averaged over all possible objective functions. This fact was precisely formulated for the first time in a now famous paper by Wolpert and Macready, and then subsequently refined and extended by several authors, always in the context of a set of functions with discrete domain and codom...
